Zefanias Rodrigues Quicho, captain of Mozambique national team, believes that his team is capable of a successful outing in the ICC Africa World Cricket League Division 2 event.
The team began its preparations for the tournament early on in the year, with training for physical fitness and skill development as well as match practices. The team had also hosted the Marylebone Cricket Club last year which was a useful learning experience for its players.
Mozambique had a disappointing Div 2 tournament in 2008 when it finished fourth, winning just two of its five games. Quicho said: "We are confident of a successful perfomance this time round and the boys will try their best to do well. Our strength lies in our high team spirit but we also need to improve on our fielding performance."
"Our dream is to play in the World Cup ultimately, but we neet to be aware of the realities facing us. We need to take every day as it comes and try our best to do better in the future," he added
