Zambia made its intentions very clear at the ICC Africa World Cricket League Division 2 in Benoni, South Africa when it comprehensively smashed Swaziland by eight wickets on Monday.
Swaziland began with a steady 32-run first-wicket partnership with opener Esteen Sauerman scoring a competent 29. This was also the highest score for the entire innings. Zambia's Mohammed Mitha then displayed a superb bowling performance and finished with impressive figures of 4-10, dismissing the entire middle batting order. Swaziland ended with a total of 78 all out in 36.1 overs.
Zambia's innings got off to a flying start with an opening partnership of 56 runs in 6.2 overs between openers Allan Insensha (23) and Ashraf Lulat (28), reaching the target in the 11th over for the loss of two wickets.
In the other match of the day, Ghana continued its victorious ways on the main field at Sahara Park Willowmoore as it comfortably beat its Malawi counterparts by seven wickets. Mozambique managed to register a 43-run win over Sierra Leone on a very damp Sahara Park Willowmoore C Field.
