Tanzania's national team departed on Friday (July 30) for a programme of six warm-up matches ahead of their participation in the upcoming ICC World Cricket League Division 4 in Italy.
Five of their preparatory matches will be hosted by Watford Town Cricket Club, who have been associated with the Tanzania Cricket Association for the last two years. The visit of the African tourists has been heavily publicised amongst the local community and good crowds are anticipated over the course of the week.
Those fixtures are as below:
Regional Invitation X1 or Combined Services v Tanzania (2nd August)
Club Cricket Conference v Tanzania(3rd August)
Hertfordshire v Tanzania(4th August)
Sussex 2 v Tanzania(5th August)
MCC v Tanzania(6th August)
A final warm-up match has been organised against Countesthorpe Cricket Club of Leicester on August 8.
Spinner and top-order batsman Athmani Kakonzi is unavailable following hernia surgery, with his place taken by 19-year-old slow bowler Harsh Ramaiya.
Tanzania will be hoping their visit to England will prove ideal preparation ahead of the WCL tournament in Bologna, scheduled from August 14-21.
