In its second game of its tour of UK, Tanzania won the toss and elected to bat first against Hertfordshire Development XI. The bowlers did early damage to the Tanzanian top-order batsmen to get three quick wickets in four overs for only nine runs on the scoreboard.
A good 100-run partnership from skipper Hamisi Abdallah and Shaheed Danani who scored 50 stabilized the Tanzanian innings. Two crucial run outs of Khalil Rehemtulla and Benson Mwita hampered the planned targeted score of 220, and it settled down for 196-9 in its allotted 50 overs.
In reply, the Hertfordshire Development XI's Oxley scored a brilliant century to lead his team to a victory in the 48th over for the loss of only three wickets.
Tanzania tours England as preparation for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4 tournament in Bologna, scheduled from August 14-21. It will join Nepal, USA, Italy, Cayman Islands and Argentina to compete in the next stage of the competition as the teams push ultimately towards inclusion in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
