Cricket Namibia have got a new sponsor for the country's 2010 women's cricket league. Bank Windhoek have pitched in with a new deal worth N$90,000 for the tournament.
The women's cricket league will run from September-November and so far six teams have registered for the 2010 event.
President of Cricket Namibia, Francois Erasmus said during a national survey conducted in March 2009, schools indicated that 745 girls play mini-cricket and 38 are involved in junior cricket in Namibia.
"This gives the indication that there has been a growth in interest by girls and women. With this sponsorship Cricket Namibia will be able to further promote the game and leverage more interest from girls and women," said Erasmus.
