Paceman Louis Klazinga's spell of 4-36 and left-arm spinner Louis van der Westhuizen's 3-20 inspired hosts Namibia XI to overcome Uganda XI by an impressive 62 runs in the first one-dayer in Windhoek.
The match was the first of a two-match one-day series being played between Namibia XI and Uganda XI at the Wanderers Cricket Club. The second one-day match will be played on Friday.
Uganda had earlier suffered a ten-wicket defeat at the hands of Namibia in an ICC Intercontinental Cup league match earlier this week.
Opting to bat first Namibia XI were bowled out for a paltry 156 thanks to an incisive opening spell by Charles Waiswa (3-15). The top-scorer in the Namibia XI innings was opener Raymond van Schoor who made 36 off 40 balls with seven boundaries. In reply, Uganda XI innings never took off as the hosts led by Klazinga and Westhuizen ran through the line-up. Uganda XI were shot out for a disappointing 94.
The tour ends on September 26 with a twenty20 match between the two teams.
