Botswana's highly successful U13 cricket event concluded on Wednesday, which saw a record number of schools participating this season.
Girish Ramakrishna, BCA treasurer, speaking to the SportsNews website: "BCA has continued to improve the standards of cricket in government schools as we keep recruiting more and more schools in the programme. At the moment, we are accountable for well over 52 government schools with 3300 kids immersed into cricket since its establishment in February 2007."
Itumeleng won the league this year beating Philip Moshotle by 24 runs in the final. Thabo Patakwe (Philip Moshotle) was named the Man of the Match.
Bernard Solomon (Oodi Primary school) received the Emerging Player award while Ramogotsi Primary School was awarded the Best Team Spirit. Modipane Primary School was named the most improved team of the year while Thato Mazula (Philip Moshotle) was named the Player of the Tournament.
