Hosts Tanzania and Uganda got off to winning start in the Africa Cricket Association (ACA) ICC U-19 Women's 2010 championship.
At the Annadil Burhani in Tanzania, the home team opted to bat first against Kenya. Tanzania made 104 for four wickets in its 30 overs. The top-scorer in the Tanzania innings was 39 extras with as many as 27 wides. In reply, Kenya were routed for a mere 18 in just 8 overs.
Ibrahim (4-13) and Saidi (3-3) were the wreckers-in-chief as they ran through the Tanzania innings.
In the other game Uganda opted to bat first and made 121 for four wickets in its game against Rwanda. As many as 49 wides were bowled in this innings in a total of 51 extras, again the top-scorer. Rwanda were struggling at 33 for eight in 24 overs when play was halted by bad light. Mbabazi was the best bowler on view with figures of 4-13. Asiimwe picked up 3-9.
