Uganda emerges champion

Uganda won the ACA/ICC U19 women's tournament which concluded at Annadil Burhani on Sunday, 5 December. Rwanda finished third beating Kenya in a playoff by 25 runs.

Uganda beat Tanzania by three wickets in the final. Tanzania opted to bat first and was bowled out for 57 in 29.2 overs. Anyipo E (3-6) and R Mirembe (2-8) were the best bowlers on view for Uganda.

Uganda lost wickets at regular intervals but Apio K held her nerves to make an unbeaten 19 and helped her side overhaul the target in the allotted 30 overs. For Tanzania Saidi M (2-11), Ibrahim A (2-15), Saguti Z (2-15) were the best bowlers on view.

In the third place play-off, Rwanda opted to bat first and made 95 for eight in its 30 overs. Iriho V top-scored with 20. Kenya lost wickets at regular intervals as Wimana S picked up 5-14 to bowl it out for 70.
