Morris Ouma tried to repair the damage but it was too little too late
Kenya XI lost its second one-day game to Indian Ranji side Gujarat XI by 206 runs on the ongoing tour to India which is a build-up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
At the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, Kenya XI asked Gujarat XI to bat first. Opener Jay Desai (72: 89b, 8x4, 1x6) and left-handed batsman Niraj Patel (156: 137b, 22x4, 1x6) added 142 runs for the second wicket. Manprit Juneja (63: 51b; 9x4, 1x6) then added a further 148 runs for the third wicket as the hosts put up a mammoth 341 for four in its 50 overs.
Kenya XI's chase never really took off as it slipped to 33 for three before Steve Tikolo (22: 32b; 2x4) and Morris Ouma (35: 42b, 4x4) repaired the damage. But it was too little too late as Kenya XI was bowled out for 135 in just 36.5 overs. Off-spinner Mohnish Parmar picked up 4-27. He was well supported by new-ball bowler Amit Singh (2-18) and Anupam Patel (2-23).
The third game in the series will also be played at the Saradar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera on Thursday.
