Zimbabwe put in a strong performance with the bat as it beat Kenya by six wickets in the fourth ODI of the series played at Harare Sports Club on Saturday to lead the series 3-1.
Chasing a target of 271 to win, Zimbabwe batsmen put in a strong start to achieve the total in 48 overs and the loss of just four wickets. Mark Vermeulen, Forster Mutizwa and Brendan Taylor struck half-centuries to take full advantage of the undisciplined bowling attack by the Kenyans to build a solid run chase.
Earlier, Kenya got off to a good start batting first with David Obuya (49) and Alex Obanda (33) putting in a 64-run partnership. Rakep Patel (47) and skipper Maurice Ouma (58) kept the runs flowing in the middle order. Prosper Utseya picked up figures of 4-46 as the Kenyan innings closed at 270-8 at the end of 50 overs.
The two sides will next meet for the final ODI on Sunday at the same venue.
