Cricket Tours Africa has become the new team sponsor of the Nairobi Buffaloes in the East African Cup and East Africa Premier League.

The Kes 2 million partnership with Cricket Kenya will see the Cricket Tours Africa Nairobi Buffaloes carry the company's branding on their team uniforms throughout the competitions which commence on August 20th.

Cricket Kenya will also be working closely with Cricket Tours Africa to attract more overseas teams to play cricket in Kenya at all levels from juniors and school teams through to professional squads. In addition plans are in place to introduce a volunteer programme for overseas students to help with the development of the game across the country.

Cricket Kenya Chief Executive Tom Sears said, "This is a very exciting new partnership for Cricket Kenya and one that has many areas of potential benefit to the sport in this country.

"As the team sponsor of the Nairobi Buffaloes, Cricket Tours Africa will enjoy high profile exposure across Africa and beyond which we hope will help promote the other initiatives we are working on.

"The prospect of bringing more teams to Kenya to play cricket and the potential benefit of having a year round volunteer programme of young cricket enthusiasts helping to spread and develop the game is a real boost to cricket in the country."

Adrian Maarschalk of Cricket Tours Africa said: "We are incredibly excited about our partnership with Cricket Kenya and are delighted to be a part of the launch of what is sure to become a prestigious tournament in this region. We believe that the potential for the growth of cricket from a grass roots level to a professional level in Kenya and Uganda is enormous and we are certain that the East African Cup and East Africa Premier League will result in the strong development of the sport in this region.

"We look forward to welcoming cricket enthusiasts from around the world to enjoy all that East Africa has to offer. We are certain that the products we are developing in partnership with Cricket Kenya will provide outstanding and memorable experiences for individual cricket volunteers, touring sides and supporters traveling to our shores."
