Stirling effort helps Ireland seal series

Paul Stirling's all-round effort (65 not out and 2-21) helped Ireland seal the Twenty20 International series with a eight-wicket win over host Kenya at the Mombasa Sports Club ground on Thursday.

Kenya chose to bat and posted 131-7 in its 20 overs. Ireland in response chased down the target in 17.3 overs.

The third and final Twenty20 International in the series will be played on Friday.

Earlier, Kenya lost wickets at reguilar intervals. Only David Obuya (28) and Rakep Patel (27) made significant contributions with the bat.

For Ireland, George Dockrell (1-23), Max Sorensen (1-30), John Mooney (1-19) and Kevin O'Brien (1-19) shared the other wickets,

The chase was easy for Ireland as Stirling (65 not out: 52b, 9x4) led the way. He first added 63 runs with William Porterfield for the opening stand.

Thereafter Stirling added a further 46 runs for the third wicket with Gary Wilson to seal the win.
