Uganda U15s win on rain-affected opening day
Uganda triumphed on the opening day of the Africa U15 Girls Tournament played at Kyambogo Cricket Oval on Monday. The hosts defeated Kenya by 17 runs (Duckworth-Lewis method) in a rain-affected encounter.

Electing to bat first, Uganda girls set a total of 94-4 in 25 overs with top scores from Player of the Match Irene Katusiime (19 not out in 79 balls) and Lelia Namaganda (eight runs in 20 balls). Rain hampered play and in reply, Kenya could only manage 43-6 in 14 overs. Evelyn Anyeko (2-9) and Julian Asimwe (2-16) were the mainstay of the bowling attack.

Uganda's next match of the day against Tanzania was abandoned due to bad weather.

Kenya will next play two games against Tanzania and Uganda on Tuesday.
