Uganda began its preparations for the ICC Intercontinental Shield game against United Arab Emirates next month with a week-long tour of Kenya that includes three 50-over games and two Twenty20s.
The team completed a seven-wicket win over Bermuda in its first game of the Intercontinental Shield tournament in August 2009, and will travel to Dubai for the next four-day match from 20-23 January 2010. It will later host Namibia from 18-21 August 2010 with the final played in UAE in November 2010.
Uganda coach Ebrahim Mohammed believes every win against the experienced Kenya side will do well for the young team's confidence. The squad is without several senior players due to work and academic obligations including Junior Kwebiiha, Davis Arinaitwe, Arthur Kyobe and Dennis Tabbi.
