Uganda wins Africa U15 Girls event

Uganda defeated Tanzania by 63 runs at Kyambogo Oval on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in the Africa U15 Girls Tournament and clinch the event title.

Elected to bat first, it posted a total of 109 with a major chunk of runs coming from wides (91). Lelia Namaganda (8) was the top batter while Asha Ibrahim (3-15) and Happyness Zainab (2-21) were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Tanzania could only muster 46 with Janet Mbabazi claiming bowling figures of 3-8.

Earlier in the day, Tanzania defeated Kenya by 18 runs after Zainab and Ibrahim returned three-wicket hauls. Batting first, Tanzania posted 55-2 and then restricted Kenya to 38 to win the game.
