Hosts Kenya fought back to clinch the three-match 50-over series as it defeated Uganda by one wicket in the second 50-over match played at Nairobi Gymkhana on Saturday.
Electing to field first, Kenya restricted the visitors to 126 all out in the 47th over with Alfred Luseno (2-29), Lucas Oluoch (2-24), and Hiren Varaiya (2-19) being the mainstay of the bowling attack. Opener Mukasa Roger top-scored for Uganda with 26 runs in 29 balls.
In reply, Uganda worked hard to defend its low total but could not restrict Kenya as it dramatically reached its target in the 32nd over with just one wicket remaining. Senyondo Henry was the top bowler with figures of 3-25 while Nehemiah Odhiambo (25) and opener David Obuya (24) played important roles in the run-chase.
In the first ODI played on Thursday, Kenya defeated Uganda by nine wickets with Rakep Patel top-scoring with 57 in 59 balls. Uganda had earlier claimed the Twenty20 series 2-0.
